Answers for Huffaz, mosques, private groups and everyone interested in the Community Demand Map.

About Taraweeh Connect

What is Taraweeh Connect?

Taraweeh Connect is a Ramadan platform that connects Huffaz with mosques, Islamic centres and verified private groups who need an Imam for Taraweeh.

Hosts post Taraweeh listings and search for Huffaz. Huffaz build a profile, apply to listings and receive invitations. Both sides can chat, agree terms and confirm a booking in the app.

Is it only for Ramadan?

Yes. Taraweeh Connect is intentionally focused on Taraweeh Imam placement for Ramadan. It is not used for permanent Imam recruitment, Eid khutbahs or other events.

How much does it cost?

Taraweeh Connect does not charge Huffaz, mosques or private groups to use the platform. Any honorarium, travel or accommodation is agreed directly between the host and the Hafiz; the platform does not process payments.

How do I register?

Registration happens in the Taraweeh Connect app. Choose whether you are a Hafiz, a Mosque or a Private Group, enter your details and verify your email address. Email verification is required before you can use the app.

How do I report a concern?

Inside the app you can report a profile, a listing or a message. Reports go to the Taraweeh Connect team for investigation, and the reported person is never told who reported them.

If anyone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first (999 in the UK).

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm with your password. The Delete your account page on this website explains what is removed and what is kept.

What is the Community Demand Map?

The Community Demand Map shows areas where people without convenient access to Taraweeh have registered interest. When enough people in one area are interested, roughly a congregation of 10 to 20, it may be worth organising a local private group.

For Huffaz

How much does it cost?

Taraweeh Connect does not charge Huffaz, mosques or private groups to use the platform. Any honorarium, travel or accommodation is agreed directly between the host and the Hafiz; the platform does not process payments.

How do I register?

Registration happens in the Taraweeh Connect app. Choose whether you are a Hafiz, a Mosque or a Private Group, enter your details and verify your email address. Email verification is required before you can use the app.

How are Huffaz verified?

To earn the Verified Hafiz badge, a Hafiz submits a government ID, a selfie and a Hifz completion certificate, plus any other credentials they choose to add, such as an Ijazah or Tajweed certificate.

An administrator reviews each item. The selfie is compared with the ID by a person, not by automated face matching. The badge is only granted once every submitted item has been approved.

Does a Hafiz need the Verified badge to apply?

No. Any Hafiz with a verified email address can apply to open listings. A host can, however, choose to accept applications from and invite only Verified Huffaz. In that case an unverified Hafiz sees a notice and a link to complete verification.

Why do private groups have extra checks?

Private Taraweeh often takes place in homes and community spaces, so private groups face stricter checks than mosques. A private group must have its ID and address verified and at least one reference approved by an administrator: a letter from a nearby mosque, a scholar or Imam recommendation, a community leader endorsement or a recommendation from an existing verified user.

An administrator must then approve the group before it can publish a Taraweeh listing or invite a Hafiz.

Who can see my address?

A host's exact address is shown only to the Hafiz they have booked, and only while that booking is confirmed. A Hafiz's own address is never shared.

On the map, private groups and Huffaz appear only as approximate areas, and only if they choose to be shown. Mosques can choose to show their exact location.

What happens if a Hafiz cancels?

Either side can cancel a confirmed booking up to and including its end date, with an optional reason. The host can then re-open the listing and receive new applications or invite another Hafiz, which leads to a new booking.

Can we talk before agreeing a booking?

Yes. A conversation opens once both sides have engaged: when a host starts reviewing an application, or when a Hafiz responds with interest to an invitation. Until a booking is confirmed, the chat reminds both sides not to share home addresses or personal contact details.

How do reviews work?

Reviews open once a booking is completed after its end date. Each side has 30 days to leave one review. Reviews are blind: neither side sees the other's review until both have reviewed or the 30 days have passed.

Who can see the details I submit to the map?

Your email address is never shown publicly and is never shared with organisers without your explicit consent. We store your postcode district (for example, B11), not your full postcode or home location.

The public map only shows the number of interested people in an area, and only once that number reaches a minimum threshold, so individuals cannot be identified.

Community Demand Map

What is the Community Demand Map?

The Community Demand Map shows areas where people without convenient access to Taraweeh have registered interest. When enough people in one area are interested, roughly a congregation of 10 to 20, it may be worth organising a local private group.

Does registering interest commit me to attend?

No. Registering interest only tells us that you would like Taraweeh closer to you. It is not a booking or a commitment, and the map shows interest, not confirmed attendance.

How do I remove my map submission?

After you register interest you receive a private removal link. You can also request removal on the Remove a map submission page.
