From shortlist to offer: running interviews on Taraweeh Connect

How to move candidates forward, schedule an interview, and send an offer that reflects exactly what you have agreed.

Every application or invitation has its own match page, with a dated timeline that both you and the Hafiz can see. You move the match forward one step at a time: Reviewing Candidate, Candidate Shortlisted, Interview Requested, Interview Scheduled and Offer Sent. You can skip any optional step, and the timeline shows only the steps that actually happened.

Do your listening first

Before an interview, open the Hafiz’s profile. Huffaz can upload up to three recitation and three Tajweed audio samples and add up to two video links. Their profile also lists experience, Hifz institute, Ijazah details, recitation pace and any reviews from earlier Ramadans. Listening first means the interview can focus on fit and logistics.

Scheduling the interview

Interview Requested tells the Hafiz you want to talk. Interview Scheduled needs a date and a time, and you can add a note, such as a video call link or the address of the venue if you are meeting in person. If plans change, you can reschedule with a new time or note.

Chat is open throughout, so you can agree the time there before you schedule it.

What to cover

  • The dates and nights you need, and any nights the Hafiz cannot do.
  • Your rakaat and khatm expectations, and the recitation pace your congregation is used to.
  • Accommodation, meals and transport, in practical detail.
  • The honorarium.
  • Who the Hafiz will deal with during Ramadan.

The offer is the listing

When you send an offer, the conversation shows an Offer card with your listing’s terms. The Hafiz accepts or declines from that card. There is no separate contract or offer letter in the app, so the listing is the record of what you are offering.

Closing the loop

  • If the Hafiz accepts, the booking is created, the listing becomes Filled and other live candidates see ‘Opportunity Closed’.
  • You can decline an application at any point before you send an offer.
  • Either side can cancel before the offer is accepted, and the record shows who cancelled.
