How reviews work: blind, final and tied to real bookings

Who can review whom on Taraweeh Connect, when reviews are published, how ratings are calculated, and what to do about an unfair review.

Taraweeh Connect team · · 2 min read

Every review on Taraweeh Connect comes from a real booking that ran to the end. You cannot review someone you only chatted with, interviewed or cancelled on. Reviews are written blind, so neither side can see the other’s before writing their own.

When you can review

  • Reviews open when a booking becomes Ramadan Completed, which happens automatically after its end date. Confirmed and cancelled bookings cannot be reviewed.
  • Each side has 30 days from completion.
  • You get a reminder when the booking completes, and another 7 days before the window closes if you haven’t reviewed yet.
  • A submitted review is final. It cannot be edited.

Blind until both sides are in

A review is hidden from the other side and from the public until both sides have reviewed or the 30 days have ended. Then both are published together, so nobody can adjust their review in response to the other’s.

What is rated

  • Mosques and Private Groups rate a Hafiz on Tajweed, reliability, punctuality and conduct.
  • A Hafiz rates a mosque on respect, payment reliability, accommodation and organisation.
  • A Hafiz rates a Private Group on safety, respect, hospitality and payment.

You can add an optional comment of up to 1,000 characters. It is shown publicly with your public name and the Ramadan year, so leave out addresses and contact details.

One review per side

Any member of a mosque or Private Group account can write the host’s review, but only one review per booking is accepted from the host side. A Hafiz’s review of a host counts for the whole host profile.

Ratings

Each profile shows a summary: an overall score and the four category averages. Averages appear only once there are 3 published reviews. Until then a Hafiz is shown as ‘New’, never with a placeholder rating.

If a review about you is unfair

You can report a published review about you. Administrators review reported reviews and decide whether to hide each one. Every decision is logged. A hidden review no longer appears anywhere and is removed from ratings and trust scores.
