Why the app asks before you share a phone number in chat
The safety notice and contact-detail prompt in Taraweeh Connect chat: what triggers them, what they don’t do, and why they exist.
Taraweeh Connect team · · 2 min read
Type a phone number into a Taraweeh Connect conversation before a booking is confirmed, and the app asks you to confirm before sending it. Nothing is blocked. If you confirm, the message is sent. The pause gives you a moment to decide whether you are ready to share it.
What happens, and when
- Chat opens once both sides have engaged: when the host starts reviewing an application, or when an invited Hafiz says Interested.
- Until a booking is confirmed, the conversation shows a notice asking both sides not to share a home address or personal contact details.
- A message that looks like a phone number or email address prompts you to confirm before sending.
- Once the booking is confirmed, the notice no longer appears.
Why wait
Before a booking, neither side has committed. A Hafiz may be talking to several hosts, and a host to several Huffaz. Exact addresses follow the same principle: a host’s address is shown only to the booked Hafiz, and only while the booking is confirmed. Keeping contact details back until then means you share them only with the person you have actually agreed to work with.
Staying in the app also keeps a record. If a message is abusive or misleading, you can report it from the conversation. Messages on another platform can’t be reported here.
Who can read your conversation
Only the two parties: the Hafiz and the users of the host’s account. Administrators cannot read conversations. If you report a message, the administrator sees that message and its sender only. Notifications never include message text, addresses or contact details.
Photos and documents
You can share images and PDFs once chat is open, for example a certificate or a photo of the accommodation. Location data is removed from images before they are stored, so a photo taken at home doesn’t reveal where home is.
When a conversation ends
If the match is declined, cancelled or closed, or the booking is cancelled or completed, both sides can still read the history but can no longer send messages.
