Staying safe on a Taraweeh placement

How Taraweeh Connect protects Huffaz before and during a booking: address privacy, sharing booking details, trusted contacts and the arrival check-in.

Travelling to a new city to lead Taraweeh often means staying with people you met a few weeks earlier. The app’s safety tools are built for that situation. None of them depend on anyone watching on your behalf, so set them up before you travel.

Before you accept

  • Check the host. Mosques can carry the Verified Mosque badge. Private Groups show their verification ticks (ID verified, address verified, reference approved) and a trust score on their listings and profile.
  • Read the host’s reviews from Huffaz in earlier Ramadans, where there are any.
  • Keep personal contact details out of chat until you are comfortable. The app reminds both sides of this until a booking is confirmed.

The address rule

A host’s exact address is shown only to the booked Hafiz, and only while the booking is Confirmed. You can open it in your maps app from the Booking card. It is hidden again once the booking is cancelled or completed. Your own address is never shared with hosts.

Tools on a confirmed booking

  • Share booking details: sends the listing, dates, host name and the host’s exact address through your own device, to anyone you choose. The app does not store or log what you share.
  • Notify a trusted contact: pick someone from your trusted contacts, and your phone’s SMS app opens with a prepared message saying where you will be. The address is included unless you switch it off. The platform itself sends nothing.
  • Arrival check-in: at midday on your first day, in the host’s local time, you get a reminder to check in. If you haven’t confirmed within 12 hours, the check-in is marked Missed and the app prompts you to tell a trusted contact.

Set up before you travel

  1. Add one or two trusted contacts in Settings → Safety & Support.
  2. Turn on push notifications so the check-in reminder reaches you.
  3. Once the booking is confirmed, share your booking details with someone at home.

If something goes wrong

You can cancel a confirmed booking at any time up to its end date. You can also report a profile, a listing or a message for misconduct, non-payment, a fake listing, harassment or sectarian misrepresentation. The person you report is never told who reported them.
